Spanish Meatballs with Wicked Salsa

Serves 6 (as a snack)

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Make your own Meatballs: (or use 600 g pre-made meatballs)

  • 1 slice crusty white bread, broken into small pieces
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 500 beef mince (or 250g beef, 250g pork mince)
  • 1 small egg
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley
  • 1 large clove garlic, crushed
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 300 g jar Wicked Hots Salsa, Mild or Medium, or Hot

 Method:

  1. Place the bread and milk into a large bowl. Toss and leave for a few minutes until the milk has soaked into the bread. Mash with a fork.
  2. Add the mince, egg, parsley, garlic, smoked paprika and paprika. Season with plenty of salt and pepper. Mix well with clean hands then form into small meatballs.
  3. Place meatballs onto an oven tray lined with baking paper. Fan grill at 200C for 15 to 20 minutes, turning halfway through, until meatballs are cooked through and browned.
  4. Stir half of the salsa through the meatballs. Serve remaining salsa as a dipping sauce alongside the meatballs.
